Description:
Ford House
Located in the Eaton Ford area of St. Neots in Cambridgeshire, Ford House is an elegant, historic Grade 2 listed house, set in its own landscaped gardens.
Ford House provides comfortable accommodation and offers short breaks, convalescence and long term care for up to 46 residents of retirement age and above.
We focus on providing a safe, homely environment where each resident is treated as an individual, with their social, spiritual, cultural, emotional and physical needs being assessed and met by a competent, trained care and nursing team.
Accommodation
Ford House offers attractive, comfortable bedrooms for up to 46 people in large single and twin bedded rooms, many with en suite facilities, and all with a call bell system and TV point. A passenger lift gives access to the first-floor rooms. There are many communal areas, including three lounges, a large dining-room and a conservatory. We have an extensive and well-maintained garden and we are currently establishing a sensory garden.
Medical and Special Requirements
Ford House has full wheelchair access from all rooms to the communal areas, for those whose mobility is limited. Assisted bathing and other amenities make mobility as safe and convenient as possible for you. Profiling beds, pressure reducing mattresses, seat cushions and high backed chairs provide extra safety and comfort where required.
All our staff are trained in the use of specialist equipment and receive regular refreshers on any changes in current usage and/or legislation affecting use of equipment. All our equipment is regularly serviced by outside professionals.
You may wish to continue with your own doctor, or if necessary we will help find a local doctor for you. With the help of your GP, a tailor made care plan will be drawn up to help us understand and provide for all your needs.
Entertainment and Activities
We offer a range of activities to suit your mobility, from music and movement to walks in the grounds or even a spot of gardening, and our residents are encouraged to pursue their own hobbies. Our activities coordinator is constantly looking for new and interesting things to entertain you. We are always keen to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and all other festivities. We offer regular musical entertainment, and we are always looking out for new live entertainment. In the summer, when the weather is fine, afternoon tea is served in the garden. We also hold regular BBQs and fetes, where we raise money for charities and the residents’ fund. Recently, our staff have produced their own pantomime for our residents.
