Description:
Valdigarth
Valdigarth is a residential home which cares for adults with a learning disability. We also have respite facilities available which enable us to cater for people with a physical disability.
Our home offers a friendly and homely environment and we pride ourselves on our relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. We even have an open door policy for visitors.
The needs of our residents are the priority of our fully trained and friendly care staff.
Valdigarth offers accommodation for up to 10 people over the age of 18. The property sits in the middle of a small ex-mining village and is close to local amenities and provides comfortable and spacious accommodation.
The home opened in 1990 and in 2007 was extended, fully modernised and re-furbished.
The communal rooms include a large lounge with doors opening onto the patio area and a garden with a small green house for service users to grow vegetables and other plants.
There are 10 single rooms (6 with en-suite facilities) and 2 other bathrooms, 1 of which includes a wet room shower area.
Valdigarth is committed to actively promoting each persons participation in an ordinary lifestyle and to encouraging and maintaining their independence.
All service users have a person centred plan which incorporates:-
- Their preferred routines
- Likes and dislikes
- People and places that are important to them
- Risks involved and how they will be managed
- Their preferred method of communication and how this will be facilitated.
All plans are regularly reviewed and take into account the person, their family and any other significant people in their lives.
Service users are fully supported to access the local community using public transport or the company vehicle as appropriate.
