Description:
Dovehaven Rest Home
Dovehaven Rest Home is a part of Dovehaven Care Homes.
At Dovehaven Rest Home, we provide quality residential care for people over the age of 65. Our friendly staff provide a professional level of care in a comfortable and relaxing environment and we ensure that we maintain independence, privacy and dignity for all of our residents.
Our care home was one of the first residential care homes to be registered in Sefton under the Registered Homes Act of 1984 and has been designed to meet the advanced requirements of the act. Located in the traditional Victorian town of Southport, Dovehaven Rest Home is in a relaxing location, with easy access to the town centre, all of its amenities and beautiful coastline.
ACCOMMODATION
Dovehaven Rest Home provides a warm, friendly environment for all of our residents. Our care home is an attractive Victorian building and is fully converted to modern standards.
SERVICES
Dovehaven Rest Home offers facilities to ensure that residents find their time here as enjoyable, comfortable and pleasurable as possible.
Our chefs serve a wide range of delicious and nutritious home cooked meals and visitors are welcome to join the residents for a meal in the dining room or the resident’s own room if they wish.
We offer an in house video service and daily/weekly newspapers are available to all residents on request. We also offer a regular, varied programme of activities ranging from bingo and other games to twice weekly trips out using our specially adapted minibus. Our home features a hairdressing salon, and a chiropodist, optician and minister are all available to visit.
PHILOSOPHY OF CARE
Dovehaven is an example of a more progressive, open-minded approach to residential care. Our residents are respected as individuals and we do our best to cater for their every need. We recognise that the necessity of moving into a care home and requiring help with personal tasks can feel like a loss of independence. We therefore strive to retain as much privacy as possible for our residents.
We encourage residents to maintain their independence and to treat the areas of the home as their own. The majority of our staff are NVQ qualified or training towards their NVQ and there are regular residents meetings to enable our residents to be involved in any decisions made about the activities and routine in the home.
