Description:
Walmer Lodge
Walmer Lodge is a registered residential care home providing dedicated service to people with Mental Health and Learning Difficulties, between the ages of 18 and 65 of both genders who require long term residential care. Short term and respite care is also available to those who need it. We will consider residents who may have low nursing care related needs but do not take residents with specialist requirements or nursing needs. Our service users reflect the diverse, vibrant and cosmopolitan nature of the communities of the City of Bradford and its surrounding areas.
Walmer Lodge proprietors are both professionally qualified and experienced in providing caring services. Mr. Khan is a Registered Mental Health Professional and has over 30 years of experience in Mental Health Care provision and is also a Business Entrepreneur. Mr. Chunara is a qualified Social Worker who has over 15 years of experience in Practice Management. He also holds a Diploma in Community Work and an MA in Social Work and Social Care.
Walmer Lodge would welcome enquiries from potential service users, their friends, relatives, and representatives, and from local and health authorities. We welcome visitors and families to visit us and to experience what it is like to stay here.
Walmer Lodge is situated some two miles from Bradford City centre towards Shipley, just off the (A647) Inner Ring Road at the junction of Queens Road and Manningham Lane. It is ideally situated with a bustling community life during the day whilst enjoying peace and tranquillity in the evening. The area is well served with health, education, sport and leisure amenities as well as shops offering many varied services.
Walmer Lodge aims to provide a high quality, holistic and ‘home from home’ model of service that meets the needs of the Service Users in the context of their social, linguistic, spiritual and cultural background. Our aim is always to actively encourage service users to participate in the life and running of the home, share in the daily living routines, take part in planned and independent social activities, access health and care services in the community, attend Service Users’ meetings, influence the assessment of their individual needs and manage their personal and financial affairs wherever possible. We also have a complaints procedure. Service Users are also offered and helped to access religious service of their choice.
