Our policy at Engleburn is to provide a high standard of care and comfort in a happy, homely atmosphere, where residents can enjoy life as they would in their own home.
Our cheerful friendly staff offers 24-hour care and are experienced and trained to NVQ levels. They will ensure that residents Dignity, Privacy, Choice and Independence are maintained at all times.
Engleburn is a modern purpose built residential care home. It is set in extensive woodland grounds with views across open fields to the Isle of Wight.
The whole building has recently benefited from expansion and refurbishment throughout. This includes a large activities centre and a purpose built Respite Unit and Specialist Care Dementia Unit.
It has been very apparent that there is little provision in the area for bookable respite beds, and those seeking such services are only able to book an available bed approximately 2 weeks in advance. This has made it very difficult for the many families who are currently caring for relatives at home. We hope that by offering this service relatives who need a well earned break will be able to book guaranteed respite beds up to 3 months in advance, thus enabling them to pre-book holidays in advance.
Specialist Care
The challenges of Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia obviously affect those suffering, but they can also have a profound effect on their loved ones. The burden can be great, so great that the loved one can barely see the distinction between the person and the condition.
Engleburn works closely with families to help them understand these challenging conditions more clearly, and interests them as much as possible in the process of caring. An open dialogue is essential, in our view.
Engleburns new dementia unit will provide specialist care and facilities to cater for the individual needs of those diagnosed with dementia. There are highly skilled carers specifically trained to understand dementia and who can meet the needs of residents on a 24hour basis.
