In 1988, proprietors John & Julie Charalambous, both qualified nurses, established Westcott House Nursing and Residential Care Home in Westcott Near Dorking

Westcott House is a dual registered home providing care for both residential clients and nursing clients.

Our category of registration is Elderly Mentally Infirm (nursing clients) and people suffering from a past or present mental illness and advanced age groups (residential clients).

We have achieved an excellent reputation in providing care for our specialist group of clients.

What we offer
Our home managers and teams of qualified nurses and experienced care assistants look after each resident’s individual care needs twenty four hours a day.An on going training programme ensures that the team uses up to date knowledge and skill in delivering the highest standard of care and good quality service.

Providing a personal service
We provide a personal service and homes for those people who cannot care for themselves as they might have wished.

Our clients are often vulnerable and are dependent upon the care, safety and protection we offer.

We continually strive to offer the highest quality and standards. Every day we have a range of events and activities in our home.

Every effort is made to ensure clients enjoy their stay. Outings and trips are arranged and organised by staff.

Residents are accompanied by staff to the local public house and entertainers and musicians regularly visit the home to perform for the residents.

The Mobile Library visits regularly offering both Large Print and Talking Books.

Accommodation
Westcott House has a comfortable lounge that provides a meeting point for our clients and serve as communal areas that along with our comfortable dining rooms allow clients to socialise in a friendly relaxed environment.

Clients are encouraged to make full use of the facilities particularly when entertaining visitors.

Should they wish they can use their rooms to meet with family and friends in complete privacy.

Bedrooms can be individually decorated to our client’s wishes, if desired.

All of our bedrooms are fitted with a call bell, smoke detectors, washing facilities and wardrobes. The rooms are fully carpeted.

We encourage the personalising of all the bedrooms with photographs of family and friends. We also encourage the display of any personal pictures, prints or family portraits.

Most of the bedrooms at Westcott House are singles with en-suite facilities, however, there are some wonderfully large rooms which are well appointed with en-suite bathrooms for married couples.

Recently completed at Westcott House is a purpose built unit comprising eighteen rooms all with en-suite facilities,specifically designed for clients with Mental Health problems. The Garden for this unit is safely enclosed.
