We try to offer meaningful activities for all of our clients

Our ‘Oomph’ activities co-ordinators work across the Home to provide a programme of activities specially developed to support those we care for, and there is a dedicated ‘Oomph’ person on each unit.

There is a wide range of group and 1 – 1 activities, and many activities that our residents would enjoy at home are integrated into life at The Uplands, including walks, baking, bingo, arts & crafts and gardening. We also introduce activities that will be new experiences for some, such as Line Dancing and Laughter Yoga. Plus there are regular outings such as trips to Theatre Severn and Chester Zoo, tea at the local garden centres and shopping expeditions. In addition we hold massage and pamper sessions.

In addition there are opportunities to utilise our dedicated Day Centre (although charge may apply for this).

The Home is fitted with wireless broadband which can be accessed by residents using the Home’s iPads or their own equipment in their rooms or on the PCs in the lifelong learning room.

The WiFi access code can be supplied to residents and their visitors by the nursing staff. Support can be provided to those wishing to learn more about computing and how to access the internet.
