Description:

Parkgate Manor

Established in 1974, Parkgate Manor has been registered with the Care Quality Commission Inspection to provide care for adults with a learning disability.

We are registered for 40 places, and have 28 single rooms and 6 double rooms, some of which have ensuite facilities.

Set in 5 acres of beautiful gardens, we take pride in the provision of high quality care, with a very wide range of impressive activities, our own transport facilities, catering services and laundry facilities. There are a very wide range of activities on offer, including within our own daycentre service as well as externally at colleges and local community resources.

Our aims and objectives reflect the type of service we offer, and regular inspections ensure that we maintain the standards we strive to achieve.

The Staff Team:

The atmosphere at Parkgate Manor is friendly and welcoming. Our philosophy is that each person is just that: an individual, and we strive to meet individual needs through a variety of methods.

Our Manager is Sally Tester.  She has extensive knowledge and experience in working with EMI and with people with a learning disability.

There is a senior team comprising of 2 Care Coordinators and Senior Support Workers who organise and guide junior staff as well as ensuring that all the residents day to day individual needs are met.

Our staff are well motivated, caring and flexible. We offer varied training opportunities including NVQ’s in Health and Social Care. We actively encourage our staff to develop through supervision and training.

The Keyworker System:

We believe it is important to meet the individual needs of residents, and we strive to achieve this through our nominated keyworker system. Keyworkers build up a good relationship with individual residents and help to develop their abilities, maximise their strengths and explore useful, meaningful and productive ways to fill their lives.

The majority of our residents enjoy a wide variety of music, we host regular discos, parties and entertainers at Parkgate Manor. We extend an open invitation to relatives, friends and other contacts to our events. We also encourage residents to take part in and to attend entertainment and social events in the local area and community.
