At Oakwood Rest Home we specialise in the care of the elderly.

Our aim is to provide all the necessary care and attention for those who wish to spend their retirement in a secure and caring atmosphere, whilst respecting their privacy and maintaining their independence and dignity as far as possible.

Accommodation at Oakwood Rest Home

We have a selection of comfortable bedrooms, all of which are fitted with nurse call systems, TV and telephone point and personal washing facilities.

Living Areas

Our bright lounge offers a relaxing environment in which to watch television, listen to music or simply to sit quietly.

Bathrooms are fitted with a bath hoist., and there is a lift providing easy access to all floors.

Garden

The attractive garden is well-tended, with outside seating for the summer months and is ideal for entertaining visitors. Interested residents are welcome to help with its maintenance.

Meals

Our attractive dining room offers a tempting and varied menu of home cooked food prepared from local produce where possible. Individual tastes are taken into consideration and all special diets can be catered for.

Services

Visiting services include a hairdresser, chiropodist, optician and clergy.

Activities

Entertainment and activities are organised on a regular basis, both in-house and by means of trips out. All residents are encouraged to participate, subject to their needs and abilities.

Visitors

Friends and relatives are welcome to visit at any reasonable time of the day.

Staffing

Highly trained staff are on call 24 hours a day, most of whom are working towards a recognised NVQ qualification. The home maintains a strong emphasis on training.
