Oakview Care Home

Opened in 2010 as part of Birmingham City Council’s modernisation programme, Oakview Care Home provides first class accommodation for Birmingham’s elderly Citizens who require full time Nursing or Residential care, including Dementia. It provides accommodation for 72 Citizens, spread over four spacious specialist units each with its own lounge, dining facilities and café on Ash unit.

Oakview’s vision of “Excellence in Care” supported by its core values of “Compassion, Respect and Responsibility” resonate strongly throughout the home and this was recently reflected in its very positive CQC report and an awarding of “Good” across all areas.

Citizens are encouraged to be as independent as possible and continue to pursue their interests even if that means “personal belongings” involve moving a greenhouse into one of the three gardens.

All bedrooms are single and have full ensuite shower facilities. Each of the four units have a selection of lounge and dining rooms and assisted bathing and showering facilities.

Excellence in care

Oakview Care Home is a luxurious purpose built care home that opened in 2010. It is located in a quiet residential road adjacent to Sennelys Park in the suburb of Bartley Green. It is three miles south west of Birmingham City Centre and one mile from the Queen Elizabeth hospital. Oakview offers 24 hour high quality Nursing, Dementia and Residential Care for elderly adults over four specially designed units. Compassion, Respect and Responsibility are the values that underpin everything that we do.

There are three specially designed dementia friendly gardens. The gardens are easily accessible and incorporate a host of features such as raised planters to enable residents to more easily participate in gardening. The gardens are used extensively throughout the year by residents and their families and host a series of events such as fetes and firework shows.

All bedrooms are single and have full ensuite shower facilities. Each of the four units have a selection of lounge and dining rooms and assisted bathing and showering facilities. Some have separate quiet lounges, cafés, kitchenettes, hairdressing room and smoking room. All bedrooms and lounges enjoy views of the Park, City skyline or one of the three specially designed dementia friendly gardens.

Oakview has a strong ethos is providing quality care in a quality environment. We have a dedicated activities team that deliver an array of group and individualised activities. External singers and entertainers that visit the home regularly have proved very popular. We also believe in a quality dining experience. We source quality ingredients and ensure all foods are freshly prepared on site by our own catering team. For example we offer full cooked breakfasts and home cooked soup each day as part of the extensive daily menu that sets us apart from other homes.
