Moorgate Residential Home is a home in every sense of the word. We are a family-run home so everyone knows everyone else and you and your relatives are warmly welcomed and soon will become one of the family.

Moorgate Residential Home is situated in the beautiful Walkham valley with easy access to the nearby market town of Tavistock and city of Plymouth. Staff are on hand 24 hours a day to provide quality care in a safe environment and our staff are specially trained to care for those who suffer with dementia. If you are struggling to cope we welcome phone calls and can advise on whether or not a care home is the right step for you.

Residents at Moorgate Residential Home enjoy some of the best care around. Each resident has a care plan that is regularly assessed to ensure their care needs are being met, family are welcome an are encouraged to be involved in this process from the start.

Moorgate Residential Home provides a friendly and sociable environment where residents enjoy daily activities such as arts and crafts, games and outings organised by our wonderful activities co-ordinator. The activities are tailored to the needs of the individual resident. We also have a monthly themed family social event.

We encourage residents to be as independent as possible within their own capabilities. We have two lounges one provides TV where appropriate programmes are shown, and the other is a quiet, bright relaxing area. Visitors are always welcome.

We encourage our care team to participate in specialist training, and we recognize the need to continually develop our staff skill base. Our team continues to excel and we have managed to maintain a very low staff turnover. A high percentage of our care team are trained or are currently undergoing training to NVQ 2 or better. We provide long term and respite care.
