Description:
Corran Dean
At Corran Dean we put a real emphasis on creating warm home from home environments. We work with adults and children with autistic spectrum conditions, mental health needs or learning and behavioural challenges, offering tailored support to everyone who spends time with us. We also provide help, support, short breaks / respite to families.
Our bespoke support means that we go out of our way to craft activity programmes that fit with an individual’s interests and passions whilst helping them to learn useful skills and improve their quality of life.
The life-enhancing environment we’ve established at Corran Dean is a result of our unique ethos. We treat everyone who spends time with us as an individual. We pride ourselves on hiring excellent staff and looking after them, and our goal is to create a nurturing family environment while providing learning experiences with an element of fun..
Corran Dean is our newest centre, which opened in 2014 and is run on a not-for-profit basis as a Community Interest Company. Our key service here is our completely individualised, bespoke support.

Schools
We offer a wide range of bespoke courses for schools, with hands-on activities being a particular strength. Our aim is always to develop youngsters so that they come away feeling good about themselves and having acquired new skills. As an accredited training centre, we can arrange ASDAN courses and we will take people’s special interests and create a related course. This might be something as specific as expressive arts via video making. Our goal is always to acknowledge and focus on what people can do rather than what they can’t.
Several members of the team are former special school staff and are experienced at developing activities programmes that are enjoyable, fulfilling and contribute towards gaining independence skills.
The spacious, rural settings at both of Corran’s premises enables service users to take part in outdoor activities including simple general maintenance tasks, animal care, growing vegetables, sports activities, gardening, and barbecuing in the summer months.
Some of the activities we take part in allow individuals to form links with the local community and this is yet another opportunity for learning. All of our schools programmes are outcome driven and can be run for a short period, e.g. at half term, or on an ongoing basis. We strive to make our offering affordable for schools and we give a huge amount of value in terms of the experiences we provide and the development we see in the children we work with.
