Burleigh House

Burleigh House is a privately run Edwardian Residential Care Home, located in the market town of Baldock, Hertfordshire, which has been providing high quality care for the elderly for over 25 years.

We are a multi-award winning dementia care home and we were delighted that our high standards of care and excellent facilities have been recognised by numerous bodies, including the Hertfordshire Care Providers Association (HCPA) who awarded us with the prestigious title of “Care Business of the Year 2011/12.”

Our other accolades include being named: “Champions of Champions 2015/16” (HCPA), Runner Up for “Best Care Team 2013/14” (HCPA) and Runner Up for “Best Business in North Herts. 2013/14” by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB).

We are also very proud to have been selected as one of only 15 care homes by Hertfordshire County Council to act as a “Beacon Care Home” within Hertfordshire by participating within their “Complex Care Premium” initiative, which aims to enable these care homes to provide the highest levels of quality support to residents with highly complex needs. We are honoured to have been chosen for such an innovative and specialist scheme.

Our medium size of 44 individual rooms, most with en-suite facilities, enables us to create a real home from home atmosphere, allowing us to help all of our residents retain their independence. We help our residents to maintain their self-esteem, dignity and keep their individuality in a safe and comfortable environment, and our comprehensive daily activities make for a very cheerful home.

We assist those who need help to live as comfortably and independently as possible by using staff that are qualified in their role.

Specialist Montessori-based Therapies for Dementia.
An individualised care programme based on the needs of each resident with full input from the individual and their family.
Day care options for those who prefer a day service.
Friendly local staff trained to the highest levels (NVQ, ASET, Dementia specialisation, Montessori BasedTherapies).
A comprehensive schedule of daily activities and weekly entertainment, as well as social events, organised trips and visits to local places of interest.
Home cooked meals provided by our trained chefs using fresh produce, catering for all types of dietary requirements, including diabetic, vegetarian and vegan.
Weekly hairdressing service and regular visits by chiropodists, opticians and dentists.
Respect of all religious backgrounds with regular visits to the home from clergy of all denominations.
