Family run since 1984
Peterborough Care is a family run organisation that has provided residential, nursing and dementia care to older people in Peterborough since 1984.
We are the longest established and largest older people care home provider in Peterborough. This is testament to the passion we hold for delivering the highest quality of care for our residents and the reputation that we have maintained in the community.
We operate only in Peterborough, to ensure that quality and management of our homes is maintained to the highest standards. We hold excellent relationships and understandings between community services and medical practitioners and us.
Our founders
Peterborough Care was founded by Shammy and Dave Marjara.
Shammy, who is a registered nurse, had a real passion for working with older people in hospital and the community.
She and her husband Dave decided to open Broadleigh Nursing Home which started with 8 beds.
Today, Peterborough Care consists of four care homes totalling 177 beds. A fifth care home is under construction in Peterborough which will offer a further 50 beds.
Shammy and Dave were later joined by their two sons Amar and Ajay Marjara.
Person Centred Care
As the company has grown, the ethos of person centred care that was created by our founders Shammy and Dave has remained at the centre of our approach.
We strive to achieve safe and effective care promoting choice, dignity, equality, independence and transparency.
