LIfe in Blyth
Blyth Country House works under a philosophy of care that dictates that all residents shall live in a safe and comfortable environment, where they are treated with respect and equality, irrespective of their needs and backgrounds and in an environment of trust and familiarity.
THE HOME
Blyth Country House is a 26 bed care home, specialising in care of older people, located in Blyth. The home is situated in a central location, close to all local amenities. Blyth Country House is a highly established home and is a large type of house set in attractive landscaped gardens
We currently have 22 Single rooms, 12 with ensuite and 4 Shared rooms with a total care capacity of 30 service users
Meals are usually taken together and we provide a choice of home-cooked meals every day (including special dietary requirements).
We have a regular optional entertainment, including chair-aerobics, entertainers and other mental encouraging activties, as well as visiting professionals such as hairdressers, opticians and chiropodists that visit the home on a regular basis.


OUR CARE
We believe it’s extremely important to promote independence and understand that all of our residents should be treated as individuals so every person living with us has a plan of care designed around their requirements and preferences, granting them choice in all aspects of their daily routine. We also welcome regular visits from family and friends.
To ensure that our high standard of care is maintained, an independent quality assurance system is in place.

OUR STAFF
All our staff are employed under a rigorous process which enables us to find the best candidates for the job. All our care staff have, or at least are working towards an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care. Likewise our catering staff all have NVQ Level 2 in catering and hospitality.
We are committed to keeping our staff up to date with changing procedure and legislation using a continuous staff training programme.
Our staff are passionate and committed to providing the highest standard of care. Continuity of care is of utmost importance to us and our residents. We keep our staff happy and motivated to ensure that turnover is low by conducting regular appraisals.
