Birkdale Park boasts a laminated floored lounge set within a luxurious conservatory with home cinema unit and surround sound. Digital CCTV covers the external grounds. Fire and Carbon Monoxide detectors, emergency lighting and nurse call facilities are fitted throughout for your safety and reassurance.

Whilst we understand it will never be like home we do our best to make you feel at ease in your surrounds.

Through our planned programme of care, in partnership with the service user, we will endeavor to cater for each persons Individual Needs, ensure Freedom of Choice, Preserve Dignity, Promote Independence, Encourage Autonomy and, with Health and Safety taken into consideration, continue care in a setting as near as possible to their normal home environment.

Staff

Professional staff are involved in a continuous updating Programme of Development and Education. All staff undergo a programme of in-house and online training and are encouraged and supported to complete individual education and training as their knowledge gaps dictate.

Quality Assurance

To maintain quality assurance we operate an internal system of quality assurance, appraisal and evaluation. The management also undertake a monthly audit which serves to highlight any improvements and/or changes which need to be made, a copy of which is made available for CQC inspectors. The service user and/or their relative/representative is given the opportunity to complete an Anonymous Quality Assurance Questionnaire on an annual basis, however, a form can be completed at any time. Copies can be obtained from the Residents Notice Board situated in the conservatory corridor. We are also assessed annually by an independent quality assurance company who award a star rating.

Categories Catered For

As a care home we cater for residential, Nursing, E.M.I Nursing and Palliative Care. On assessment we take into consideration health and nursing issues, necessary equipment i.e. hoists, profile beds and special mattresses and suitability of the room chosen by the client’s representative. Only when we are satisfied that we can offer the appropriate accommodation and care required do we accept a patient. We also take into consideration any special needs required by visitors and relatives.
