Welcome to Autonomy Healthcare. Autonomy Derby is a service designed around you, for you. Victoria & Elizabeth comprise 7 flexible living units based on a serviced apartment model promoting an ordinary life, individual and small group living. We provide high quality care in a progressive placement with bespoke support, life skills training and activities delivered in a warm, safe and friendly environment. Located at the heart of the community in a landscaped gated estate close to the city centre, the University and leisure facilities, autonomy Derby is unique.

Our aim is simple, we want to assist you to reach your full potential, giving you the confidence to make choices and take control of your life. To enable you to live the life you want we have created PLAN A. an individual life pathway. From choosing who you live with to how to take part in the community, to personalisation of your environment and furniture, PLAN. A gives you real choice. Do you want to make new friends, carry on your education or get a job? We will enable you to achieve your aims.

We support people from across the UK, if you’re looking for specialist residential care, respite care or supported living place because you are leaving school, moving out of your parent’s house or a change of placement we have the skills and flexibility to support you to live the life you want.

You choose how to be healthy and safe; life skills to budgeting, internet safety to road hazards and positive risk taking.

Our care pathways are designed to support you should you require long term support, as well as supporting you if you lead an almost independent life. Personalisation and choice are at the centre of our tailored approach empowering you to progress effectively toward greater self-advocacy, independence and autonomy.

How to make a Referral or organise a visit.

Making a call to us is the first step of the referral process. You will be able to discuss your client or family member in confidence with a professional who will become your key contact during the referral process. All clients receive a free pre-admission assessment which will establish their interests, needs, abilities and identify how we feel we could assist in providing a placement. We are happy to arrange for families and care professionals to visit us to meet our management and clinical team

We will work with the individual’s referring team and family to ensure a smooth and successful referral and transition to autonomy. We understand that not every referral can be planned and that some individuals may present in a state of crisis requiring urgent admission to a place of safety, we will aim to provide a rapid, accessible and responsive service in these circumstances.

Admission Criteria

We provide specialist services for adult males and females 18+ with a primary diagnosis of Learning Disability; Autism, including Asperger Syndrome; Mental Health Needs; or complex needs and behaviour that may challenge.
