Description:
Bickham House
Bickham House is a not-for-profit registered charity. We provide quality permanent and respite residential care for the elderly, in our beautifully maintained, historic home. With fine, extensive gardens, qualified caring and compassionate staff, nutritious home-cooked menus and a diverse programme of activities. Our focus is on retaining independence, dignity and quality of life for our residents.
We have 26 bedrooms at Bickham (five with en-suite facilities)
The rooms vary in size and each has a washbasin. Five rooms are larger and are en-suite. We are also planning to make a further three rooms en-suite.
Although permanent residents occupy most of our rooms, we often have availability for short stay respite care and one room is always available as a guest or respite room.
We encourage residents to customise their rooms and they can add as much or as little of their own personal possessions, including furniture, as they like, (subject to the room size and health and safety issues).
Many of our rooms offer views of the garden, which is at its best when the rhododendrons are in flower during spring and early summer.
All rooms are within accessible distance of toilets and all rooms can have a commode if the resident wishes.
What makes Bickham Retirement Home a pleasant place to live
Bickham House Residential Home is warm, welcoming, friendly and supports the residents and their families, and this is why…
All residents are treated as individuals and their respective needs are taken care of throughout the day and night.
However residents choose to spend each day (click to view our day to day activities), we make sure Bickham House feels like home – somewhere they feel relaxed, safe and in control of their choices.
As Bickham House operates as a non-profit making charity, all the monies generated are reinvested back into the Home for the benefit of the residents.
