Alvington House Retirement Home is a beautiful detached house, standing in its own landscaped grounds, adjacent to Wray Common, Reigate. We are a family owned home specialising in caring for up to 25 people aged 65 and over, who enjoy reasonable health but are too frail, or no longer wish, to continue living alone in their own homes.

Alvington House is a lovely detached home that has been updated to provide comfortable, warm accommodation with modern facilities. We have an on-going programme of refurbishment to ensure that every room is clean and freshly decorated – just the way you would want it. It even extends to our landscaped gardens that receive a regular face lift.

We offer:

  • 20 comfortable en-suite rooms with TV points, telephone, bell call and wifi available
  • 2 rooms with wash basins close to bathroom and WC
  • Residents’ lounge with books and board games
  • Well-appointed dining room serving delicious and nutritious food prepared and cooked by our resident chef
  • Attractive conservatory overlooking our grounds
  • Two patio areas, one raised with beautiful views to Reigate Hill
  • Lovely landscaped gardens surrounding the house with peaceful seating areas
  • On-site parking

Alvington House Retirement Home Facilities

Alvington House Retirement Home has a range of care facilities and qualified, professional staff who are dedicated to looking after you. They will support and encourage you to remain active and mobile for as long as possible, yet treat you as an individual, with respect and dignity.

Our services and facilities are best suited to those who:

  • are over 65 and whilst in reasonable health, too frail or no longer willing to continue to live in their own home
  • are recovering from an operation or illness and require a short convalescent stay

Our bedrooms and communal spaces have been adapted to assist those with reduced mobility and include:

  • 2 stairlifts

  • Grab rails
  • Bell call buttons
  • Hoist-assisted baths
  • Easy use taps
  • Twice-weekly keep fit class

We also have access to visiting health practitioners:

  • 4 GPs, or you may retain your own GP if practicable
  • Dietician
  • Occupational therapist
  • Physiotherapist
  • Chiropodist

Accreditation and registration

We are registered and inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and are fully compliant. Referrals can be made personally or by GPs, consultants or by Health and Social Services.
