Description:

Glenthorne House

Glenthorne House is a 27 bed residential care home that offers quality, personalised care, 24 hours a day by a team of dedicated health care professionals.

Glenthorne House is a Victorian Building which has been carefully converted and extended to provide comfortable and well-appointed accommodation. We are also registered with the Care Quality Commission and are accredited with Wolverhampton City Council. We have five stars for food and hygiene, and platinum status for infection control.

We encourage people to visit our home to find out more and we welcome the opportunity to let you fully appreciate the standards of care and accommodation available. You are therefore welcome to join us for lunch accompanied by a friend or relative.

Glenthorne House is situated in Bilston on the corner of Dover Street and Prouds Lane. We offer specialist residential, dementia and respite care. We have 25 rooms, with 11 having en-suite facilities and all decorated to an excellent standard.

At Glenthorne House, we strive to offer a person centred approach to caring for our residents and with this in mind, we offer a wide range of activites that are stimulating but above all fun. Many residents enjoy the simple pleasures of life, like taking a walk to the shops or going for a drink at a local pub or cafe.

We offer creative activities such as knitting, painting, card making and cooking. Some residents also enjoy planting the raised flower beds in the garden or just sitting in the patio area of our accessible garden. We also welcome many visitors at Glenthorne House, with a church group coming in once a week as well as the children from a local school who join us to sing and chat to the residents.

We also celebrate every birthday with a delicious cake and birthday tea and hold annual Christmas, Easter and St Georges Day parties to name but a few!

For a bit of pampering, we have our own salon.

Keeping in touch is very important at Glenthorne House, so we have free WI-FI access throughout the building.

Residents’ rooms are their own private domain and we encourage them to bring with them personal items and keepsakes to make it feel like home.
