Description:
Warberries Nursing Home
Warberries Nursing Home is considered to be one of the most beautiful and historic buildings in Torquay. Constructed Circa 1860, the home itself is a stunning Victorian grade II listed building with a very intriguing history.
Warberries Nursing Home is conveniently located just a stones throw away from all of the shops, amenities and seaside charm that Torquay has to offer. Our home has a private garden with a sun terrace and outdoor seating for residents and families to enjoy.
The spacious en-suite rooms have comfortable seating and remote control flat screen televisions, in addition to electric profiling beds and a 24 hour nurse call system.
Our activities provision, led by a Montessori trained co-ordinator, supports our residents to continue their personal hobbies and interests and maintain their skills. Daily activities might include working in the garden, washing the dishes, painting, playing the piano or spending time completing a crossword. Group activities are frequent with visiting musicians, animals, parties, themed afternoons and theatre shows. We are passionate about intergenerational work, the arts and music. Pre-school children are regular visitors to Warberries Nursing Home and we work closely with local childminders to develop intergenerational sessions that bring life into the Home and enable our residents to interact with children and build meaningful relationships.
As a Nursing Home, our team of Nurses and Care Assistants provide high quality nursing care 24 hours a day.
We are experienced in managing a wide range of medical conditions including Diabetes, Parkinsons, Huntingdons, Stroke, COPD, Epilepsy and end of life care. We work closely with other health professionals to monitor and maintain our residents’ health and wellbeing and ensure their individual needs are met.
We are experienced in caring for people with different types of Dementia, and work closely with the local mental health team to support people as their illness progresses. We value each of our residents as individuals, and carefully tailor their care to meet their unique needs, often in creative ways. We have two secure areas of our Home and high staffing levels to ensure residents who need a high level of supervision are safe, happy and well cared for.
Our care planning is done in partnership with our families, and where appropriate all information is shared via our cloud based care planning system. This system is also used to share photographs and messages so families can keep in close touch with us and their loved one.
We also accommodate people on a residential basis, if they do not currently have any nursing needs. We can offer short stays, day care and respite breaks dependent on availability.
