Description:
Meadow View
Meadow View is a newly established, purposely built home, offering residential care. We care for adults aged 18+ with Learning Disabilities, who may also have additional needs such as; physical, mental health, sensory, ASD and/or moderate challenging behaviour.
Our belief is that people with a Learning Disability should be encouraged to live a life as fulfilled and meaningful as possible. We promote independence with support, asking our residents to participate in the day-to-day running of their home which could include maintaining their own rooms, laundry, assisting in meal preparation and planning.
All our clients will have access to an Occupational Therapist, Pastoral support, a Speech and Language Practitioner and a General Nurse if required. Services will be bought in for specialised activities such as Music Therapy.
As an organisation, we promote equality and diversity through celebrating different cultural and religious events during the year. We also support individual dietary and nutritional requirements.
All our clients will have access to local amenities such as; a local farm shop, Brampton Valley Way Walk, and the nearby pub. Meadow View is within walking distance of Kingsthorpe where our residents, as part of their personal schedule, can access local supermarkets, banks, the library, coffee shop and a selection of retail outlets.
All staff members are fully trained care specialists in learning disabilities, qualified to use a person-centred approach.
Meadow View – Residential Care
Our aim is to create a safe, secure family environment in a spacious six bedroom bungalow, each with en-suite shower room, Wi-Fi connection and emergency-call-button. Our residents can choose a fully furnished room or, opt to personalise their room in their own style.
Meadow View benefits from a large family-style kitchen where residents are encouraged to contribute to part, or all of the mealtime activities, that will include preparing vegetables, setting the table, clearing away and other activities such as baking.
There is a large sitting room for residents to relax in, watch TV or play games. We also have an enclosed garden for outdoor activities and a paddock.
Meadow View residents also have access to day-time activities plus opportunities to go to places of their interest with their one-to-one. To achieve this, each resident will have their own key worker. Residents can also access the off-site allotment.
