Description:

St Leonards Rest Home

St Leonards Rest Home is a small family run care home on Hayling Island. We are only a few minutes walk away from the local village shops, library, sea front and local churches. The area is close to Chichester harbour and the South Downs National Park.

We aim to give our residents a varied and enjoyable time at St Leonards Rest Home. We put the resident at the heart of everything that we do. Our staff are very thoughtful and caring and most of them have been with us for over 5 years . We work together as a very happy team. In the 20 years that we have owned the home we have never had to employ agency staff so that our residents do indeed get continuing personal care from staff they know very well and trust.

St Leonards Rest Home is a 15 bedded, family run home and have registration from the Care Quality Commission,(CQC), for old age, frail, mental disorder past or present including dementia illness e.g. Alzheimer’s.

One of our care workers is our activity co-ordinator and she ensures involvement of our residents in these activities. We also appreciate that some residents may not like some of the activities and so no resident is forced to do anything that they do not want to do. The following is a list of the activities we do routinely in the home:-

Bingo, musical movement, reminiscence sessions, newspaper discussions, seated exercises, various target games, painting, arts and crafts, garden activities, singing, quiz’s, laughter sessions. We also encourage our residents to join outside clubs such as the Age. Concern Luncheon Club .
