Description:
Cumberland House
Cumberland House is a residential care home for the elderly, registered by the Care Quality Commission.
We offer long term care for male and female residents over retirement age, who have suffered a mental health disorder.
Cumberland House is situated in the Blacklands area of Hastings, close to local shops, town centre, and the beautiful Alexandra Park.
Our caring and competent staff are on duty 24 hours a day and the proprietor or her deputy manager is in daily attendance.
The Proprietor, Linda Gratton BA(Hons) is the registered Manager of Cumberland House. The Deputy Manager, Joanna French achieved her care award at Level 5 in 2012.
There are ten members of staff who provide care services, there are also two cooks Lisa and Penny, Mike who deals with maintenance and our housekeeper Joeleen. All of us work together to acheive our aims and objectives:
We believe that a smaller home with a stable and long serving staff team provides for better care, continuity and security for our residents. We also believe that individuals are unique, have names and are not numbers.
The home accommodation comprises of ten single rooms (seven with ensuite facilities) and four large rooms (with ensuite facilities) over two floors. Our home is not suitable for people with limited mobility.
All rooms incorporate a radio call system, automatic but self-regulating central heating, mains drinking water and temperature controlled hot water. Each room has double glazing and private door keys and locks.
Shared facilities for residents include a comfortable TV lounge, dining room, garden room and large garden. There is also a designated smoking area.
Outings and special activities can be arranged by request. Visiting services: reflexology, chiropody, ophthalmology, and hairdresser are available, in-house Aromatherapy and footcare is provided free of charge.
