Sal Royd Villa

Sal Royd Villa is a small privately owned residential care home for the elderly. It was established in 1987 by Mr and Mrs Ellwood. The home is managed by their daughter, Joanne Seymour, who holds the Registered Manager’s award (NVQ Level 4). Our aim is to provide a high standard of quality care in a homely atmosphere.

Sal Royd Villa was formerly two Edwardian houses and was transformed by the present owners as a care home for the elderly in 1987. The home started off as a 6 bedroomed care home but soon grew to 16 bedrooms due to the increasing popularity of the home.

Sal Road Villa is registered with the Care Quality Commission as a care facility for a maximum of 16 elderly dependant people in need of personal care and dementia care.

Accommodation

Sal Royd Villa is registered to accommodate a maximum of 16 residents in mostly single rooms.

There are 14 single rooms and 1 double bedroom in total. One room is an en-suite. Residents are encouraged to bring their own furniture, where possible, so that their room is as comfortable and as homely as possible.

There is also two spacious communal sitting/dining areas on the ground floor level and 2 toilets. There are 4 bedrooms and 1 double bedroom on the ground floor. On the first floor there are a further 8 single occupancy rooms and one of these is an en-suite. There is a bathroom on this floor. All these rooms are accessible by stairs and stair lift. There are 2 more rooms on the first floor, these are suitable for more mobile residents. There is a toilet adjacent to these two rooms. Smoking is prohibited in the residence but there is a designated smoking area on the patio outside the lounge.

  All meal times are flexible and residents can arrange to have their meals in their room or in the dining area. Our food service has been highly commented upon and we hold a five star rating for our kitchen.
