Description:
Conway House
Conway House is an 8 bedroom unit which cares for adults with physical and learning disabilities.
The Home offers care to adults with both learning and physical disabilities. The people who use our service may have associated conditions such as autism, epilepsy, Rett’s, Down’s Syndrome, challenging behaviour, cerebral palsy sensory impairment, and other requirements such as assisted feeding PEG feeding and incontinence care. The staff training and the equipment is tailored to suit all of these needs and is continually assessed to meet newly identified needs.
Nursing Care cannot be provided at Conway House. However if specialist care is required and care staff are able to under go appropriate training to meet these needs i.e. rescue medication, oropharyngeal suction, nebulizer therapy or wound dressing or invasive treatment of a non-urgent nature, this health care can be accessed through the person’s G.P. Practice. Appropriate Community Nursing Services will then (if accessed by the G.P as necessary) come to Conway House and the Home will facilitate this care.
At Conway House, we will respect each person’s rights. The right to be heard, and listened to. The right to complain, and the right to make choices.
At Conway House we recognise that each person is individual, with unique personal needs. We aim to be responsive to the client’s Language, Culture, Religion and Disability.
At Conway House, we aim to develop the Care Team to be Enablers and Friends through Thought, Dignity, Respect and Privacy and to promote Independence and Individuality for all who use our services.
