Burnside Court

Burnside court is staffed 24 hours a day by very dedicated, trained staff, many of who have worked here for several years. All staff are given the opportunity to complete their NVQ in care, as well as our cook, Josie, also having gained her NVQ level 2 in care as she is very much involved with all the residents.

All our staff keep up to date in all the mandatory training e.g. Induction, First aid, Medication, Fire safety, Health and safety, Manual Handling, Infection control, Pova, Diet and nutrition as well as in depth Dementia training. Along side our mandatory courses we will undertake any other training as the opportunity arises. Emma has a board up in the office to show all the staffs’ up to date training.

Visitors

Visitors are welcome anytime and are encouraged to join in with activities, seasonal celebrations and special occasions. If you would like to stay for a meal with your loved one then please just ask.

Location

Burnside court used to be 2 old houses built in 1892. It has been professionally converted to retain its character and yet provide modern comfort and security.

The Property is located close to Paignton town center, on the level with only a short walk to the shops. We are close to Victoria Park with local bus stops only 50 yards away.

Accommodation

All bedrooms are individually designed, decorated, and furnished. However, residents are free to bring some of their own furniture if they please. We would encourage you to have personal pictures on the bedroom walls to make the room your own personal space.

There are 24 single rooms and 1 shared room. Shared accommodation is allowed where appropriate ie. husband and wife. All rooms have a water closet en-suite.

There are also 2 sitting rooms and the dining room has a tabled area consisting of settings for 4-6 people. This joins onto our ground floor lounge. Our Garden is accessed through the second lounge and is fully secure for residents to enjoy being outside.

Burnside court is accessible for wheelchair users and has 2 passenger lifts which provide access to all areas of the home.

We have three bathing areas. One with a bath hoist, a wheelchair accessible shower area, and assisted shower area.

All areas of the home have a call bell system so staff can respond immediately to your needs
