Ridge House Residential Home

Ridge House Residential Home stands in its own grounds with beautiful views over Dartmoor, in the Village of Morchard Bishop where Residents are able to make use of the local amenities such as the post office and stores, London Inn public house, and links to public transport.

Ridge House is a family run home, run day to day by Jon, Debbie, Beth Bradford and family, who with their team of staff are committed to providing care and support to service users due to illness/disability/frailty of age. We also provide day care and respite care (according to room availability), all within a warm, friendly and homely atmosphere.

The aim of the Management of Ridge House is to provide a “Home from Home” environment with quality care in a safe environment so that the Residents feel as happy and as safe as possible and regard it as a home from the time they arrive at Ridge House.

Philosophy of Care

The philosophy of Care at Ridge House is to treat each Resident as an individual, to offer as much freedom of choice as possible in order to gain the maximum amount of independence and individuality to ensure that each Resident is treated with dignity and respect at all times and that each has their Social, Emotional, Spiritual and Physical needs met and Confidentiality is observed at all times. Care plans are compiled to identify each individuals needs. Ridge house works closely at all times with residents, their families and professionals to ensure the health and welfare of each individual resident which is at all times paramount.

Facilities and Services

Ridge House provides staff cover 24 hours a day. There is a nurse call system in all rooms. T.V points in each room. With residents input menus are compiled with a variety of different food all cooked daily with fresh fruit and home made cakes available each day and fresh produce supplied locally. Breakfast is served in Residents own room or in the dining room. Medical diets catered for. Ridge House is centrally heated throughout

Each Resident has their own single room, 7of the 15 rooms have en-suite facilities and every room has its own washing facilities. There are two bathrooms and four additional toilets available for Residents use. There are large communal areas in the form of a Television lounge, Dining Room, beautiful large Conservatory where Residents socialise and listen to music as well as enjoy visiting entertainment and activities arranged by our staff and entertain family and friends.

Residents have use at all times of a large patio area and lawn, with far reaching views and seating to enable residents to enjoy their surroundings.
