Philosophy of Care

Albert House is a “home from home” residential home where our residents can feel safe in a friendly, secure and relaxed environment.

We strive to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of our residents and remain sensitive to each person’s ever-changing needs.

This is your home, and our daily routine is home from home.

We recognise that moving into a residential home can be a big change which can cause concerns and anxiety for you or your loved one. We always aim to provide a welcoming and smooth transition for everyone involved in the process.

We can provide freedom of movement around Albert House, which applies to both inside and outside Albert House while still on the property. We have a beautiful garden seating area, which is enjoyed throughout the summer months. We are also proactive in ensuring the safety of our residents and make sure during winter months they are protected in their movements to prevent slipping on icy surfaces or exposure to the cold.

Albert House provides an environment, which is safe and secure for our residents, care team and visitors. We encourage our residents to bring their personal possessions to personalise their own space.

Our 29 bedrooms are on two levels with a passenger lift and stair lift serving the 1st floor allowing residents the freedom to move around Albert House independently, although of course our care team is always on hand to give help when needed.

Activities and recreation are offered and encouraged at Albert House, providing interest and opportunities for social interaction, but nothing is compulsory and we respect the preference of our residents.

Various games, activities and exercise take place at Albert House and we have created an Activities calendar so you can keep up to date with what’s on and what your loved ones can be involved in.

We offer a range of services at Albert House, from full laundry facilities, personal services such as letter writing or planning your shopping needs, and we are delighted to speak to you and discuss the individual needs of you or your loved one.

Contract and Fees

Fees are inclusive of accommodation, laundry, all meals, drinks and 24 hour care. Our Terms and Conditions of residency are embodied in our Contract document which forms the basis of a stay with us. Please contact us directly for more information.
